Our mission is to coordinate and facilitate Florida Atlantic University’s emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation activities to protect our students, faculty, staff, resources and infrastructure in order to maintain or restore University operations. This is achieved through building, sustaining and improving individual, unit and university readiness and resilience.

2023 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday - Great Time to Grab Emergency Supplies
Consumers can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during the 2023 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the sales tax holiday begins Saturday, May 27 and extends through Friday, June 9. A second exemption period will begin Saturday, August 26 and extend through Friday, September 8.
