The Center of Acoustics and Vibrations in the College of Engineering and Computer Science specializes in underwater acoustics, sonar technology, structural acoustics and vibration, aero-acoustics and hydro-acoustics. Research support is provided by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, The Naval Surface Warfare Center, The Naval Underwater Systems Center, the Naval Research Laboratory and NASA.
The Center for Hydrodynamics and Physical Oceanography in the College of Engineering and Computer Science conducts research in ocean modeling, ﬂow measurement and computational ﬂuid dynamics involving near shore processes, nonlinear wave mechanics, turbulent ﬂow, and coherent vortex dynamics. Funding is supported by federal and state agencies and the National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research.
Focused on marine corrosion education and research, the Center for Marine Materials in the College of Engineering and Computer Science is working in the areas of corrosion, materials science and energy storage. Located within 十大网投’s Department of Ocean Engineering, the center’s facilities include an on-campus materials laboratory and an ocean-side marine corrosion laboratory, where ﬂowing natural seawater is available.
The Institute for Ocean & Systems Engineering is part of 十大网投’s Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. It includes world-class faculty members, engineers and technicians, and graduate students engaged in federal and industry sponsored ocean engineering research and technology development in the areas of acoustics, marine vehicles, hydrodynamics and physical oceanography, marine materials and nano-composites.
SeaTech enjoys a long-term partnership with the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock Division and its South Florida Testing Facility (SFTF) which extends offshore south of Port Everglades over a 18 nautical miles cross-self by 4 nautical miles along shelf region, encompassing water depth of up to over 700 nautical miles. The partnership provides extensive combined in-water test and evaluation capabilities for AUVs and other underwater systems.
