This waterfront Dania Beach facility (SeaTech) houses the Institute for Ocean and Systems Engineering and complements the academic programs of the Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering. SeaTech is situated near the Dania Beach pier to take advantage of its close proximity to the Atlantic Gulf Stream current. It is home to industry-sponsored ocean engineering research and technology development in the areas of acoustics, marine vehicles, hydrodynamics and physical oceanography, marine materials and nano-composites.
